Welcome to the Concierge Repairs blog page, I shall use this page to share my thoughts and ideas.
Very often a new job presents a new challenge which can be made a little easier by buying a new tool. (OK, this may sound like a lame excuse to browse the Screwfix catalogue, but I am happy to be persuaded that it is a valid reason!)
Faced with a job to lay a laminate floor, I was advised by a highly talented carpenter that what I ‘really needed’, was one of these.
Wow, what a revelation! How have I been surviving all this time without one of these amazing little tools? You can do anything with it (well nearly). Taking out a section of skirting, trimming the bottom of a kitchen cabinet end panel is a breeze. No more agonising cuts using a floorboard saw. 2 minutes with this tool, whips off just the right amount of timber to let in the flooring.
Clearing out old grouting, lifting glued carpet, trimming a piece of beading is as easy as….. amazing.
Back to Screwfix for more blades (and one of those handy little pencils….)
